About Lara
I obtained my B.A. majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
I began my education in psychology at the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, Ca from 1992 to 1998. During my training, I worked in numerous Bay Area mental health agencies as a therapist before receiving my doctorate, including:
- Children’s Health Council (Palo Alto),
-
University of California,
- Davis Counseling Center,
- Contra Costa County Community Mental Health (Concord),
-
Comprehensive Child Crisis (San Francisco),
-
California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco)
Post-doctorally, I completed fellowships at Eastfield Ming Quong in Campbell, Ca. and at La Familia Community Mental Health in Fremont, Ca. After completing my dissertation and obtaining my doctorate in 1998, I became a licensed clinical psychologist and opened my private practice in 2000.
I started my training with an emphasis in child and adolescent psychology. After several years of heavily focusing in child and family psychotherapy, I became more interested in adolescent issues, especially adolescents transitioning into adulthood as well as adult psychology. Over the last few years, I am seeing more families and couples on issues such as couples and family therapy, divorce, co-parenting and infertility.
